Happy christmas crafting

Good evening all

Sheena Douglass is on our screens on Thursday 25 June. She will be bringing some festive cheer to you all at 8am, 11am, 2pm, 4pm and 7pm on Create and Craft. Get ready with a cup of tea for the fabulous demonstrations.   Here is one of my sample cards I have made using an embossing folder and word stamp.  Keep a look out on the other Inkoids blogs  for more sneaky peaks.

Happy Monday

Good Morning All

Thought I would post a couple of cards I made at the end of May - a birthday and a thank you card using Sheena Douglass products.

The background was made using distress inks mixed with water and droplets dropped onto the card and dried in between adding new colours. I think I used rusty hinge, peacock and antique linen.

I love the new Dyna paints - they are FAB!  a little on my craft sheet and dipped a bottle top rim and stamped on the background.
The floral stamps are Sheena's and soooooo versatile, I have stamped them on copy paper painted black on both sides and embossed, then used the gilding waxes to really make them sing.  the sentiment is stamped onto the same background as the card and embossed with a copper powder.
the ribbon, jewels and backing paper are from my stash.

This card is using the same background put through the leaf vein embossing folder and the butterfly stamped and coloured twice, part of the second one cut out and layered on top.  I have used gilding wax on the leaf veins as well

I love the colours and texture of these two cards and hope you like them too.

Thank you for visiting my blog and look forward to seeing you again soon.

Stamping or no stamping?

Good Evening all

Thought I would post a card I made today seeing as the weather in Perthshire was horrible this morning and although it is still windy the sun is now shining and it is a lovely evening.

I decided to make a card to fit in with Hels Sheridan Sunday Stamper challenge, which this week is no stamping.  I know cutting it to the wire as the cut off is 2100 this evening.   Where does a week go!!!!!

I wanted to play with backgrounds and started off with 120gsm copy paper and 3 distress inks, persimmon, dusty concorde and pickled raspberry which I sprayed with water and dried with a heat gun.

Not happy, bored with it already and it looks like a blotchy mess - often does to start with, so I decided it needed a bit of bling.  Out came my new dyna paints violet blue, blue black and orange yellow and I went over the distress inks with a watered down mix of the paints and then sprayed it with water and dried it.

Just a small amount of each and sprayed with a water mister, 6 or 7 sprays and each one mixed with the water and them put it through Sheena Douglass's taste of india mandala embossing folder and used empire gold gilding wax over the raised areas. The picture really does not show the bling.

I used another background I had made using H20's and dyna paints and embossed with sheena's floral india 5x7 folder and used the renaissance gold gilding wax to highlight the raised areas.  I then used a rectangular die to cut it out. and the gilding wax around the outside edge

This was cut out and mounted onto purple card and the background was mounted onto purple and black card.  I layered the background onto my A5 folded card and added some ribbon trim
to the side and mounted the 5x7 panel on top.

I added a Tim Holtz word band at the bottom and my card is finished with no stamping.

Happy Stamping (or not) until next time x

Good evening all

Where has time gone - well over a year and no excuses just gone!! I will promise to try and post regularly.

Here goes

We had the obligatory tin of roses chocolates a couple of years ago (other brands are available) and I kept it because I thought I can alter that - 2 years later I decided to play.
I covered it in copy paper and it sat on the side for weeks. I decided to paint it with gesso and some blue added to it, then used stencils in stripes and spots and stamped with an arrow stamp. I then used a leaf stencil and paste

I added Wendy Vecchi's art parts to the top - again stencilled and painted and stamped with a swirl stamp. I had great fun altering this.

I have entered this into Hels Sheridan Sunday Stamper - Free Theme  (Post went to pot so date shows as later)
