Good Morning from sunny Scotland

Yes indeed the sun is shining and in Perthshire that is a novelty after Perth has had 225% of it's normal rainfall for July and August didn't start much better, but this is the second day of sunshine, that makes me happy and means I can tackle the weeds in the garden.

I was asked on Sheena's Inkettes how I made my Christmas card hanger that was a sample for Sheena's Christmas show in July.

I made it using Sheena's Faux leather technique which you can access at  https://www.youtube.com/user/sheenad29 and click on videos.
Here are some pictures, which will hopefully help with my tutorial.

I used 2 sheets of A4 kraft card and fleatherd them and put them through the leaf vein 8x8 embossing folder and used brushed corduroy ink pad over the top.

One piece of the fleather was cut lengthwise down the middle and then overlapped on the short ends and glued with tacky glue and stitched across with my sewing machine.
For Part 2 of the fleather I used some plain curtain lining and glued it onto the back of the long strip (the second part of how to attach the fabric is also on Sheena's You Tube pages) I used a blanket stitch on my machine to sew all around the edge to finish it off and green organza ribbon down each side stitched at intervals so little gold or silver pegs can be added for the cards.
I stamped the pine cone and branches using Dyna Paints (mixed colours to get a nice brown) onto the lining which finishes off the back nicely.

The second piece of fleatherd kraft card I used with the pine cone and pine branch die cuts and added ink and gilding wax to them for dimension.  Again tacky glue to attach to the front and some red and green fine glitter on the cones.  I added some gold gilding wax around the edge on the front.  The twine bow stamp cut out and added to the top and a large red ribbon on the bottom and it's finished
