Mini Makes

Good Afternoon all

After being used to making larger cards for Sheena Douglass DT team, I decided to make some mini 4" cards.  There is a fabulous blog hosted by Jules http://jules-alwayswithaheart.blogspot.co.uk/.  She has template layouts that she is happy for people to use and seeing as I found 100 x 4" card blanks and envelopes I thought I would work my way through them.

These are the first few I have done using Sara Davies just for men paper pads and stamps, as well as paper from my stash and scraps (and there are 100's of them!).  I used Sheena Douglas stamps and a couple of others from my stash and magazine stamps.  I had great fun making these and there are many more to come!

Thank you for visiting, hope to see you again soon xx

Donna Ratcliffe's fabulous new stamps

Good Afternoon all

Donna's new stamps are brilliant and it would have been rude not to have a play.  All the backgrounds are from my inky stash

A brusho background, stamped in versafine and coloured with distress oxide inks

Oxide inks on the background, stamped with versafine and embossed and gel pens to add colour to the butterflies

The background is a stamp from Sheena's "something in the air" stamps and embossed in white, all stamped and coloured with oxide inks.

I painted some gesso on my craft mat and pressed the card into it and pulled it up which gave it texture and dropped brusho's on and sprayed wit a little water so it ran into the texture and then stamped with versafine and embossed. The butterflies are also stamped and embossed and the sentiment was stamped in copper on black card.

Thank you for visiting and see you next time xx

Alchemy Samples

Time flies, its been a busy couple of months, so time to catch up.
Here are my Alchemy samples for Sheena Douglass

Background made with Pebeo Deco Crème paints
and the professor stamped and painted and cut out
along with the light bulb and added to the card.

The create a flower wall stencil was used with the concrete paste, Pebeo Deco Crème paints and gilding wax.  The bottles were die cut and texture added with a Sheena dotty stencil and the deco paints seed beads added with the deco gold paint

Back ground using Pebeo Deco paints and the hand and eye cut from craft card and stamped and embossed and the sentiments added.

A kraft note book, I took the spine off so I could decorate it more easily, the books, scales and leaves were die cut in black and stamped and embossed, the leaves and corner stamps were embossed around the edge.  Once I stuck everything to the card I used black gesso and added gilding waxes

The note book back done in the same way as above
with the stamped and embossed sentiment

Crème deco paints in the back ground and the corner stamp embossed in
black with versafine added to the edges and embossed.
I used one of Sheena's splodge stamps with gold embossing
to look as if the test tubes were spitting out their contents and added embossed sentiments

I love this image it reminds me of our chief Inkoid Donna!!!
I stamped the books and used the Pebeo masking gum before stamping
again and the professoress behind.  I used frantage embossing
powder around the edge and splattered on the background before adding the sentiments

A good excuse to scrape paint onto a canvas with the deco crème paints
and used one of the create a flower and 60's stencils to add some texture.
The die cuts were stamped and embossed and highlighted with
gilding wax and added to the canvas.  I used glossy accents in the magnifying glass.

Tried to do a clean and simple one, not my forte being a messy crafter!!
Stamping, embossing and a little colour.

My 3D project,   I had soooooo much fun making this!
An mdf board on a base, painted with the deco crème paint and the create a flower wall stencil used with concrete paste, leaving out a section where the bunsen burner is.  Gilding flakes used on the wall to make it look burnt by the flame and all the pieces coloured and layered, and a table made out of a piece of scrap embossed card.  Micro beads were added to the spillage to give texture

Thank you for visiting and I hope you have enjoyed looking at my makes
See you next time x

Temptingly tropical Peacocks - 2 versions of the same card

Good Afternoon all

Today I have 2 versions of the same card to show you.

I love the temptingly tropical stamps and in particular the Peacock, the first version is using Aqua tints painted on in wiggly stripes and sprayed with a little water to blend.  I dried off the ink and used an anti static bag and stamped on the peacock feathers and coloured in the eye detail with pure aqua tint colour to make it pop.  I cut the card down to 7" square and stamped the peacock head and the sentiment on the spare card and used a white pen to highlight the eye area and more pure aquatint on the head and body. I added the Peacock head and the sentiment to the card and mounted it onto some teal Centura pearl card and onto a white 8x8 card blank.

The second version is using the Tim Holtz Distress oxide inks, I luuuuuuurve these very much!
They give a lovely creamy chalky texture

I used a sponge to add the colour to a A4 piece of Sheena Stamping card and sprayed with water to blend a little more and dried off.  I used my anti static bag and stamped and embossed the peacock feathers in black and coloured in the eyes.  I did sponge on a little more which took off some of the embossing powder but I liked the distressed look it gave and where it has gone a little pale I used a pen to ink in the line. The card was cut down to 7" square.  The peacock head and sentiment was stamped onto spare card and the oxide inks used to enhance the colours.  I mounted it on black card and added 2 layers of ribbon before adding the sentiment and head, before adding to an 8" card blank.

Thank you so much for visiting my little blog and I hope I have given you some inspiration to play with all your stamps and inks, until the next time xx

Sheena Douglas new words stamps

Good morning all

The year is racing ahead and as usual I am behind with my blogging, Apologies!!

Sheena Douglass has new word stamps out on Monday 13 February on Hochanda starting at 8pm for a One day Special, along with Crafters Companion 8x8 embossing folders and Spectrum Noir sparkle pens.

My first sample I have shown is using the wood embossing folder and gold/biscuit and green sparkle pens with shades of brown distress inks

I have thinly spread embossing paste on the frame and pressed the folder into the paste, let it dry and coloured with the distress inks and some sparkle.

The middle section is the gold and biscuit sparkle pen and the accent from the stamp sheet stamped in a design and the word stamped and embossed on the sparkly gold background and layered.  I used the accent stamp to make a small flower and the dragonfly from the Perfect partners set.

I will be back with more samples over the weekend, thank you for visiting and have a fab Friday xx
